Are you thinking of living in Fishers, Indiana?

A conversation with Cindy Marchant, Keller Williams, Fishers, Indiana

Fishers, Indiana has recently received many accolades including “most affordable suburb in America” in Business Week- March 2010; best place to raise a family in Bloomberg, also in 2010 and in CNN Money, Fishers was named in the Top 10 places to live based on schools, low crime, good health care, low property taxes (1% of assessed value each year) and job opportunities (unemployment at 5%).

And Fishers, Indiana is within 180 miles of several other major cities such as Cincinnati, Louisville and Chicago making it a central hub for easy access.  There is even a Mega Bus with wi-fi that travels to Chicago making it even easier!

The People and The Schools Population is right around 75,000 having grown from only 7,200 in 1990!   Part of the growth is related to the excellent school system, receiving blue ribbons and other awards.  There are 12 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and two high schools.  In addition, the town has old world charm with the library, post office, restaurants and shops all within walking distance.

Attractions Fishers is a twin city with Billericay, England in the United Kingdom.  They have a Renaissance Faire each year to acknowledge and celebrate their sister city!  Other great events include an outdoor pavilion where the Indianapolis Symphony plays each weekend during the summer, Geist Reservoir with boating, a new outdoor mall (Hamilton Center) and only a short drive to downtown to watch the Pacers, the Indianapolis Colts or take in a baseball game or visit the World’s Largest Children’s Museum.

Real Estate in Fishers There are typically about 800 homes on the market at any given time and on average sell for about $95/sq ft and the homes typically sell in about 75 days on the market.  There is a great deal of new construction in our town of Fishers, predominantly on the east side.  Homes with the Marchant Team sell quickly because we stage them, market them, get professional pictures and tours and price them correctly.

I am an avid blogger for the town of Fishers and as a result have an edge for buyers coming into our market and that translates into more buyers for my listings!  I also spend premium dollars to get the Showcase option for Realtor.com and Trulia giving my listings better exposure.

For folks relocating to the Fishers area, I prepare a relocation book with demographics, schools and other fun facts.  I take my buyers on a tour of the city highlighting all the top spots.  I also will take video and audio of homes so that if my buyer cannot be in Fishers to view homes on a regular basis, I can be their eyes and ears for them.

About Cindy Marchant I have been a REALTOR since 2001 and with Keller Williams since 2006; our team has sold over $20 MM each of the past few years.  I am the team leader for the Marchant Team.  We sell our listings on average in 62 days and for 97% of list price.   We work with buyers relocating to Fishers on a regular basis and help them make Fishers their home
