WHERE – Find What You’re Looking For

Technology Tuesday

For agents who need that fast answer to the several questions that clients ask, this application searches for the nearest school, doctor’s office, businesses, and even religious centers using tools such as the Yellow Pages, Zipcar, and Yelp. WHERE has over 4 million users and with the WHERE Wall, the app provides an opportunity to review and share advice about places with others. WHERE also lets its users discover, collect, and share information about local places and offers special discounts and sales from businesses.

The company has ads through its hyper-local ad network that connects clients with merchants around the area. WHERE also is linked with Google Maps, which helps with finding the best locations to eat, go out, or watch a movie. Starbucks also has its own feature within the application to find the nearest one near you! Also, with the latest rise in gas prices, there is also a feature that specializes in finding the cheapest local gas.

Another feature that catches the eye is Check-In, which is similar to FourSquare in which its geo-fencing location technology checks users in when visiting a place. This links to social media accounts, Facebook and Twitter, as a status update. The Placebook feature contains reviews from other people about businesses and restaurants that other users can view.

This application is available to download for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Palm Pre, and Windows Phone.
