Zillow on your iPhone

Technology Tuesdays

They say that real estate is a mobile market—which would explain why over 2million people have downloaded Zillow’s mobile real estate app. This handy app has become standard for iPhone toting homebuyers, and its no wonder with the program’s wide range of capabilities.

While the Zillow real estate app’s features vary slightly from one operating system to the next, they include:

· Home value estimates.

· Approximate rental costs for homes, apartments, condominiums and townhomes.

· A search tool with filters for price, bedrooms, location, monthly payment and more.

· High-res home photos.

· Savable searches.

· Notification settings that alert you when a new home in your range comes to market.

· Information that can be shared via social networking sites.

· Home forwarding so you can send homes to friends that are also in the market.

· High-res aerial maps.

· Voice search.

· Address-based searching.

· Google Street Views.

· Driving directions via Google Maps.

If you have boycotted the iPhone as a protest to Steve Jobs’ turtleneck then have no fear—the app is also available for Android, Windows Mobile, and the iPad.

The Zillow app offers a unique set of tools to smartphone owners that can be used on the go; making it the perfect tool for those constantly on the lookout for their dream home. As the app works with smartphones’ built in GPS devices it can be extremely useful if you want info on a house you drove by or for information on where the nearest homes for sale are. It is also a great way to waste a Sunday afternoon.

The app is the most popular real estate app on the markets, which stems not only from its features but also its huge array of property listings. In fact Zillow’s app hosts so many property listings that if you stacked it’s 102 million homes they would not only reach the moon—but also make it halfway back! And if you added all the home estimates together they are worth approximately as much the EU’s GDP (over $16 trillion).

If you are one of the lucky home buyers with a fancy phone then do yourself a favor and download the app. If you don’t have a fancy phone—don’t worry about buying one since you are going to need that extra money soon!

But don’t take our word for it—check it out for yourself…
