NakedApartments.com, a name designed to be remembered, is a start-up with grand ambitions. Our goal is to simplify renting, not only for renters, but also for agents, brokers and landlords.
Apartments Ranked by Quality
While the standard business model in the rental space features paid listings at the top of a renter’s search, we instead rank listings by relevancy and quality, using our proprietary algorithm.  Our goal is to rank the best available apartments for any renter’s search.  For example, if a renter wants a one bedroom in The Upper East Side with a doorman and elevator for under $2,500, they’ll see all available one bedrooms in that neighborhood with those features for that price, and to make it even easier for the renter, our algorithm rank those listings by quality.

Reviews of Agents, Brokers and Landlords
We also set ourselves apart by including renters’ reviews of agents, brokers and landlords.  Good reviews drive other renters to that agent, broker or landlord, and vice-versa. The self-reinforcing system rewards the professional who provides good customer service, which can be as simple as answering renters’ phone calls or returning their emails.  As everyone in the real estate industry can attest, there’s a significant difference in quality among its many agents. Our reviews help renters gauge an agent’s professionalism, so they can enjoy the best renting experience.

Send Messages to Active Renters
Another unique feature enables brokers, agents and landlords to send messages to our thousands of registered, in-market, and active renters.  They can sort these renters by desired neighborhood, move-in date, and more.  We charge just  few dollars for every message sent and read by the renter.  Any unread messages will be credited back.  The pricing is definitely low, and can be viewed as disruptive when other sites like Rent.com charge $15 per lead or when Craigslist charges $10 per NYC listing, but we believe that as long as we stick to our goal of simplifying renting, the money will be there.
Maintaining Privacy and Anonymity
At our core, you could say we monetize our website by connecting active renters with the broker and landlord community.  Some may call “connecting” a euphemism for lead generation, which generally means selling someone’s contact information, but Naked Apartments diverts from that norm.  We allow the renter to control whether their information is shared.  If a renter has a question about an apartment, they can ask it anonymously or they can choose to share their contact details.  If they choose to remain anonymous, all communication occurs through the Naked Apatments’ platform and the renter’s privacy is maintained.  In the real estate space, whether it’s in the rental or the for-sale market, renters and home buyers are often leery of becoming a “lead” who is endlessly badgered, which is certainly an understandable concern. Our anonymity features solve that problem.
 Site Design Philosophy
Site Design Philosophy
Asides from our unique features that set us apart from the competition, we also try to keep the site as simple, intuitive and user friendly as possible.  You won’t find www.NakedApartments.com cluttered with ads, or filled with spam listings that are difficult to sort, but instead you’ll find a simple platform that provides thousands of listings, with tens of thousands of pictures (which every renter loves,) and all of it’s intuitively laid out, and easy to navigate.
