This course is strictly for real estate professionals to obtain a base of knowledge on mortgage lending for residential real estate. Realtors, building managers, attorneys and others need to understand the process their clients goes through in order to obtain financing and how they can play a better part in the transaction. This is an overview of the residential mortgage process and how it fits into the real estate transaction. The material covers the different residential property types, how to analyze the appraisal and review building information for underwriting. It details underwriting and approving the borrowers’ credit profile, assets and income. A complete discussion of different loan products and programs will allow participants to understand how a buyer is qualified and the loan process is currently handled. Students will leave with the knowledge of the residential mortgage process and what they can do in their capacity to make the deal move quickly and smoothly.
The course has been approved for the NYS salesperson’s and broker’s licensing and continuing education courses as an 11.5 hour curriculum. The class can be tailored to meet any time or course curriculum, but will need to be presented as such for CLE approval.
